If you just want to use Birda to log your sightings and keep a record of your lists, you're welcome to do so!
Here's how to ensure that you, your profile and your sightings are private if you'd like to use Birda without the community and social aspects:
Open the Birda app
Navigate to your profile (bottom right)
Tap on Settings (top right cog icon)
Tap 'Privacy' under Account
Tap 'Profile Page'
Change the setting from 'Everyone' to 'Followers'
Go back one screen
Tap 'Sightings and Sessions'
Change the setting from 'Everyone' to 'Only You'
