Birda's session and sightings feature allow you to enter the number of individual birds you saw in a sighting. How you do this depends on how you are recording your bird sightings.

Live Session in Speedy Mode

Simply tap on the + icon next to a species to add an additional counts for the species. E.g. See two American Robins, then tap the + twice for the American Robin. See another three American Robins, then just tap again three times!

If you see a very large flock of birds then to save you tapping hundreds of times simply long press on the + button and manually enter the count. Whatever you enter her will add to the existing count for the speices. E.g. If you have already counted 20 Snow Geese and then see another 50, then simply long press + for Snow Geese and enter 50. This will automatically add towards your existing total to give you a total count of 70.

Live Session in Easy Mode

If you are logging a session in Easy Mode and not specifically counting the number of each species you see, you can still add species counts. This often happens if you see something really unusual or rare and you think the count could be useful for research purposes. In this case, log the species first and then just swipe up on the session card so that you can see the list of sightings, now just select the sighting and add a count.

Add Sighting

When you are adding a sighting, you can add a count in the sighting detail section when you land of the summary screen.
