How to change a species you logged in a sighting or session?

If you have misidentified a species in a sighting or setting, then it is very simple to edit the species.

If you have misidentified a species in a sighting you have logged, then it is very simple to edit the species.

Steps to edit the species in a single sighting post

  1. Open your profile in the Birda app

  2. Tap on the 'Posts' tab

  3. Find the sighting you want to edit and tap on it to open the detailed sighting screen

  4. Tap on the ... icon in the top right of the sighting and tap edit

  5. Scroll down to the sighting heading and tap on the species next to the bird icon

  6. Select the new, correct species from the list

  7. Tap the < icon in the top left to save your changes

Steps to edit the species in a session post

  1. Open your profile in the Birda app

  2. Tap on the 'Posts' tab

  3. Find the session containing the sighting you want to edit and tap on it to open the detailed sighting screen

  4. Tap on the blue 'View Sightings' button below the map

  5. Tap on the sightings tab at the top of the screen to toggle to the list of sightings in the session

  6. Find the sighting whose species you want to edit and tap on it

  7. Tap on the ... icon in the top right of the sighting and tap edit

  8. Scroll down to the sighting heading and tap on the species next to the bird icon

  9. Select the new, correct species from the list

  10. Tap the < icon in the top left to save your changes
