What Happens When You Post a Sighting or Session on Birda?
When you share a sighting or session on Birda, the app is designed to handle uploads seamlessly. Here’s how it works, what to keep in mind during uploads, and what to do if something goes wrong:
How Birda Handles Your Uploads
Connected to the Internet? Birda will immediately try to upload your sighting or session while you’re online.
No Internet Connection? If you’re offline, don’t worry! Birda will save your sighting or session on your mobile phone. Once your device reconnects to the internet, the app will automatically try to upload your saved data.
Important: Keep the App Open During Uploads
For uploads to complete successfully, the Birda app needs to remain open while the upload is in progress. If you close the app during an upload, it may pause and will only resume once you reopen Birda.
What to Do If Your Sighting or Session Gets Stuck
In rare cases, a sighting or session might not upload even when you have a stable internet connection. If this happens:
Keep the App Open: Ensure Birda stays open for at least 10 minutes with a good internet connection to allow the upload to complete.
Stay Logged In: Do not log out of your account. Logging out may result in the loss of the session or sighting that is stuck.
Avoid Deleting the App: Deleting the Birda app can erase any unsynced data, including the sighting or session you’re trying to upload.
Contact Support for Help: If your post remains stuck and doesn’t upload after trying the above steps, send us a message via the support chat in the app (Profile > Settings > Help) or email our support team. We’re here to help and will work to ensure your sighting or session is successfully uploaded.
