The Birda app offers a convenient and time-saving feature for birdwatchers. Instead of tediously typing out species names in the search field, users can simply use their voice to input the desired bird name. This not only expedites the search process but also minimizes the chances of errors due to misspellings or typos. So, the next time you're using birda to log a sighting, let your voice be your guide in the Birda app!

The user interface works slightly differently between the Android and iOS Birda apps. Here is a brief overview of how they work.

Android voice to text

On Android, simply tap on the microphone icon on the right of the search bar and then say the bird's name.

iOS voice to text

On Apple iOS devices, tap on the search field, then tap on the microphone icon on the bottom right below the keyboard and then say the bird's name. On iOS, this will work when you are online or offline.
